Tholkappiyar Tamil School, named in honor of the renowned Tamil scholar who lived 2000 years ago, offers a vibrant cultural learning environment.
Our Tamil school is accredited by WASC and affiliated with Hampton Roads Tamil Sangam, our school began in 2018 with a single class and has grown to accommodate 40 students across five different levels.

Mission

We are dedicated to nurturing a deep appreciation for Tamil culture and language. Our curriculum, developed in collaboration with the American Tamil Association, emphasizes not only language skills but also moral values and cultural awareness.

Tholkappiyar Tamil School functions under the auspices of Tamil Sangam Hampton Roads, a registered 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization devoted to promoting Tamil heritage, arts, and education in the United States.

Tholkappiyar Tamil School follows the curriculum developed by the American Tamil Academy (ATA)

Tholkappiyar Tamil School is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), California, USA.
